Proposition 10

On November 1998, California voters passed the California Children and Families Act of 1998. The act levies a tax on cigarettes and other tobacco products with the intent to provide funding for early childhood development programs, in addition to establishing a State Commission and local County Commissions for this purpose.

Request for Proposals

Final Award Announcement: The Imperial County Children and Families First Commission met on June 11, 2015 to complete the final evaluation phase for Request for Proposal (RFP) applications sFinalAward1516ubmitted for the 2015-2017 funding cycle and issue the Final Award Announcement for applicants that will be selected for funding for Fiscal Years 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.

Commissioners selected 12 Projects from agencies interested in applying for Proposition 10 funds that would be used to provide services to children 0-5 years of age, their families and/or caregivers. These services include programs that focus on early care and education, strengthening families and family support, and child health. The total allocation for the Projects that were selected for this funding cycle is $1,570,605.00 for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 (year one of the two-year funding cycle).
