The School Readiness Program is pleased to announce that
it will be offering applications for the Professional Advancement for
Childhood Educators Stipend (PACES) Program for Fiscal Year 2011-2012 to
eligible participants on December 9, 2011 beginning at 4:00 pm.
Individuals must pick-up applications for the PACES Program at the
Imperial County Children and Families First Commission office.
Applications are due by July 31, 2012. A WAITING LIST will be
established once all applications have been exhausted.
You may be eligible to qualify for the PACES Stipend and
receive $750.00 if you meet all the following criteria:
* You must be working at a qualified private or
public preschool center OR you are a family home-based childcare
provider; must serve children 0 to 5; and
* You are enrolled in a community college or a
4-year university AND you are pursuing a degree in Early Childcare
Education, Child Development or related field; and
* You must complete Nine (9) units during the
2011-2012 academic year and must pass the course(s) with a passing grade
of C or better. ESL courses are applicable; and
* Do not qualify for the Professional Development
and Retention Stipend program.
