This year, the School Readiness Program will be working with five school sites within the Imperial County to improve the ability of families, schools, and communities to prepare children to enter school ready to succeed. 

The schools/communities that are selected are those that serve children and families with striking characteristics: a high percentage of low-income (85% receive free/reduced meals), Latinos (75%) and other ethnic groups (16%), English language learners (48%); and schools primarily in the lowest 3 deciles of the Academic Performance Index (API).
